In this series, begun in 2018, Catherine Branger draws inspiration from observing the work of other visual artists—initially friends, then colleagues, and later artists she discovered in exhibition spaces she regularly visits. These paintings are constructed from photographs she takes herself or finds online. Driven by her curiosity about the work of her peers, Catherine Branger views the realities of others through the lens of her personal perception.

More recently, she has incorporated into this series her perspective on the work of non-professional artists, whom she encounters in workshops for incarcerated or people with disabilities. From her position as an observing artist, she questions the distinction between amateur and professional artists.
