In designing the twenty-first bridge in Sète, Jean Denant made a global artistic gesture, which goes beyond the simple cladding of an architectural work. The Pont des Arts therefore constitutes an autonomous work of art in itself - and at the same time an element of urban planning at the gates of the city. With its fluidity and rounded shape and thanks to its mirror-polished stainless steel covering, a material characteristic of Jean Denant’s installations for several years, the Pont des Arts blends perfectly into its environment and matches the colorimetry of the architectural context.
