La Prairie

Travelling installation on a barge
Tarpaulins, magnetic supports and fabrics
As part of Horizons d'eaux #4, contemporary and living art circuit on the Canal du Midi created in partnership with les Abattoirs, Musée - Frac Occitanie Toulouse, Convivencia Festival and Frac Occitanie Montpellier
The installation La Prairie on the barge Le Tourmente articulates a series of images of flowering meadows, digitally processed through a succession of photographic layers to extract a real and abstract motif. With this ornamental system, Béatrice Utrilla evokes Gilles Clément’s flower meadows, “a living space left to the free development of the species that settle there”.
This spontaneous organisation opens up new horizons by questioning our relationship with natural elements and our affinity with the plant world.
