For Lapin Canard Editions, Béatrice Utrilla produced a series of photographs on the persistence of images, entitled Les Séductrices. From her personal archives she compares images of actresses who worked in the Hollywood film industry between 1930 and the end of the 1980s with business cards of call girls brought back from Las Vegas last summer by a close friend. By combining these two series of images from different periods, she brings together seductive attitudes in often elaborate stagings. The frontal superimposition of these promotional images confronts persistent representations and raises in the history of popular images the construction of our current questions.
